Checklist

Confirm every option has an equal chance, unless you intend to weight them.
Remove duplicate entries, unless duplicates are meant to increase an option’s odds.
Decide whether picks should allow repeats or remove the chosen item from the pool.
Use a large enough sample size before concluding a picker seems biased. Small samples look streaky even when fair.

Can weighted odds still be “fair”?

Yes, as long as the weighting is transparent and intentional, like raffle tickets. It’s simply a different kind of fairness than equal chance.

Why does a fair random picker sometimes pick the same option twice in a row?
