Data Storage Converter
Manufacturers advertise storage using decimal (1,000-based) TB. Windows reports capacity using binary (1,024-based) TiB, so the same physical drive shows a smaller number, no space is actually missing.
KB (kilobyte) technically means 1,000 bytes; KiB (kibibyte) means 1,024 bytes. In casual use, “KB” is often used to mean either.
